Phase Sensitivities in Oscillating Dynamical Systems
A general formulation for the sensitivity analysis of all types of oscillating systems described by ODEs is developed. Different types of oscillators are presented, and the use of phase locking conditions for the calculation of relative phase sensitivities is explained using examples of each oscillator type. Examples are taken from biology where oscillating systems are ubiquitous (e.g., cell cycle, circadian clock, predator-prey models, neuron cells).
