MIT AI Hardware Program

The MIT AI Hardware Program is an academia-industry initiative dedicated to disruptive innovations in artificial intelligence hardware. The mission is innovating technologies that deliver enhanced energy efficiency systems for computing in the cloud and at the edge. The approach is based on use-inspired research, where the corporate members create new projects with MIT researchers or expand existing activities. Projects span the full abstraction stack: materials, devices, circuits, algorithms and software.

Program Goals are:
(*) Bring together MIT and industry researchers in the AI-hardware space
(*) Seed collaborative research projects across the full vertical stack
(*) Create a roadmap of transformative AI hardware technologies for the next decade
(*) Leverage MIT.nano: The most advanced university nanofabrication facility anywhere, fostering a unique environment for AI hardware research

Membership Benefits include:
(*) Direct engagement with 1 or 2 research projects
(*) Attendance at Annual Review:
     Review of entire research portfolio
     Keynote talk about company research
(*) Engagement with MIT students and researchers through in-person/online events, seminars and internships
(*) Early access to research results: preprints, demos, practice talks

(*) Membership in Advisory Board
(*) Opportunity to send visiting scientist (at discretion of host)
(*) Company exposure to community through research seminars and tours at company sites

Corporate Membership:
Membership fee base: $75k / year
Additional funding supports one or more projects per year. Existing funded projects can be leveraged.
