Perceptual Resolution Tests for MEMS Tactile Display

As part of developing micro-electromechanical tactile stimulators and arrays in collaboration with Kaigham Gabriel at Carnegie Mellon University, we will determine the limits of perceptual resolution for vibratory tactile stimulation at selected skin sites. These measurements represent a significant advance in the fundamental understanding of human touch and will guide the design of the MEMS actuator arrays. We are building a Tactile Perception Test Apparatus to perform the experiments.
