Research Summary
Within the Center for Nonlinear Science, Professor Akylas makes fundamental studies of nonlinear wave propagation and instability phenomena. The aim is to understand wave-generation and instability mechanisms in a variety of physical contexts. This is achieved through theoretical modeling using advanced analytical and numerical techniques, and comparison with relevant experimental observations.
