Kiva is the Chief Commercial Development Officer at GE Ventures. In her current role, Kiva is building a high-performing commercial development and market intelligence practice within GE Ventures. Together with her team, Kiva focuses on scaling GE Ventures’ commercial impact through ecosystem development, partnerships, strategic planning and world-class programs.

Kiva started her career at GE in 1999 and was excited to return in 2016 as the Managing Director of New Business Creation. She brings over two decades of telecommunications, mobile and digital experience to her role. Most recently she was the President of Smart Cities and Industrial IoT for Qualcomm Intelligent Solutions. While at Qualcomm she helped strategic partners and cities drive digital transformation and connectivity adoption including LinkNYC. As both an intrapreneur and entrepreneur, she also ran a Colorado based startup and lead it’s funding raising and board efforts. She also held executive positions at Motorola and GE. Kiva has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in Science from Northwestern University.

In 2016, she was named to the list of Top 50 Industrial IoT 5G Industrialists and Innovators. She was also an honoree of the 2016 Women of M2M. Kiva holds board seats with CleanTech San Diego and Teen Volunteers in Action and serves on the Selection Committee for EvoNexus. As a passionate student of technology innovation she is a frequent lecturer, speaker and mentor at Kellogg, UCSD and UCI. She is based in San Diego with her husband and two sons. She is an avid skier and sailor, and loves to read. She started her career at Walt Disney World as a costume character—although she won’t reveal which one.

Sheri Brodeur is a Director of Corporate Relations at MIT. Prior to this, she spent 22 years at Hewlett-Packard Company in several roles. Her most recent position was in the HP Labs Strategy and Innovation Office. The role of this organization is to set HP Labs' research strategy and extend HP's internal research capacity by partnering with universities, governments, and other companies on a global scale to rapidly advance the positive impact of technology on the world.

Sheri spent 15 years with HP Labs, HP's corporate researcher center, managing major university alliances and programs, including a $25M program with MIT. She has been responsible for managing global higher education technology programs in the areas of Security, Digital Libraries (DSpace), Information Management, and Sustainability.

Prior to this role she spent the previous eight years at Hewlett-Packard in the sales organization moving from the position of Field Sales Engineer to Global Account Manager. In this role she was responsible for selling, supporting and delivering high end test and measurement solutions for the communications industry.

Brodeur has a BS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and an MS in Solid State Science from the Materials Research Laboratory at Penn State University.

Marcus Dahllöf leads MIT Startup Exchange, which facilitates connections between MIT-connected startups and corporate members of the MIT Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). Dahllöf manages networking events, workshops, the STEX25 accelerator, opportunity postings, and helps define the strategic direction of MIT Startup Exchange. He is a two-time tech entrepreneur (one exit in cybersecurity), and has previously held roles in finance, software engineering, corporate strategy, and business development at emerging tech companies and Fortune 100 corporations in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. Marcus was a member of the Swedish national rowing team and he is a mentor at the MIT Venture Mentoring Service.

Leslie invests in start-up companies in the healthcare industry, specializing in digital health and healthcare IT, medical device technology, and emerging business models. Leslie joined GE Ventures in 2014 after 16 years of experience in venture capital investing as Managing Director with ONSET Ventures. She works with GEV portfolio companies Neuronetics, Chrono Therapeutics, Digisight, Iora, Omada Health and Arterys. Board seats prior to GEV include Sadra Medical (acquired by Boston Scientific), and Spinal Concepts (acquired by Abbott Labs). Prior to venture investing, Leslie spent 19 years serving in various operating roles at both large corporations and small venture backed start-up companies including VP of Sales and Marketing at Medtronic CardioRhythm, VP of Marketing at Embolic Protection, Inc. (acquired by Boston Scientific) and key positions at start-ups Nellcor (now Medtronic/Covidien), Ventritex (acquired by St. Jude), Menlo Care (acquired by J & J), and GE?s Healthcare Division. She holds a Bachelor?s degree in biomedical engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Leslie has served on advisory boards or as guest faculty at several universities including Purdue, Stanford, and UC Berkeley.

Fabien Beckers is the CEO and co-founder of Arterys, a cloud/deep learning startup that is disrupting the medical imaging space and building image-based precision medicine tools. Fabien has led the growth of the company from four co-founders to a team of 34 today. Under his leadership, the company has become a pioneer in cloud-based medical imaging software, offering the first FDA-cleared end-to-end cloud infrastructure for medical imaging. They key advantages of the platform being automatic aggregation of real-world data and ability to scale and distribute the processing of increasingly large, complex datasets. Fabien’s vision for the company is to accelerate data-driven medicine by building precision medicine tools based on the consistent quantification of medical image features in combination with molecular, genomics and patient history data. Fabien holds a PhD in Quantum Physics from the University of Cambridge and a masters of business from Stanford University.

Keith’s career has largely focused on analytics platforms and analytic applications. Keith began with product management, product marketing and corporate development roles at Borland, Remedy, Lutris, and Business Objects, and expanded to product unit leadership roles at SAP as the SVP of Enterprise Information Management and as GM & SVP of Analytics Cloud at Salesforce. Prior to joining GE Healthcare as GM of Analytics, Keith served as VP of Enterprise for autonomous drone manufacturer 3D Robotics. Keith graduated with honors in Mathematics from UCSC, and is happily married with two sons in Berkeley, CA.

Sangbae Kim, is the director of the Biomimetic Robotics Laboratory and an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT. His research focuses on the bio-inspired robot design by extracting principles from animals. Kim's achievements on bio-inspired robot development include the world's first directional adhesive inspired from gecko lizards, and a climbing robot, Stickybot, that utilizes the directional adhesives to climb smooth surfaces featured in TIME's best inventions in 2006. Recent achievement includes the development of the MIT Cheetah capable of stable outdoor running up to 13mph and jumping over any obstacles autonomously. This achievement was covered by more than 200 media articles. He is a recipient of best paper award from International Conference on Robotics and Automation (2007), King-Sun Fu Memorial Transactions on Robotics (2008) and IEEE/ASME transactions on mechatronics (2016), DARPA Young Faculty Award (2013), NSF CAREER award (2014), and Ruth and Joel Spira Award for Distinguished Teaching (2015).

John Carrier is a senior lecturer in the System Dynamics Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management  and Managing Director of 532 Partners. His expertise is in shaping the dynamics of operating environments to improve productivity, quality, safety, and morale simultaneously. He has helped companies save hundreds of millions of dollars by helping them find and eradicate the hidden systems lurking inside every operation. His current focus is to help prepare companies to compete in the new environment of Industry 4.0.

He has educated over five hundred top-level leaders in the MIT Sloan Executive Education program in Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, mining, and healthcare. When not teaching, he spends most of his time in the operating environment, working directly with the front line to deliver measurable results in less than sixty days.

Dr. Carrier holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Ph.D. in Control Systems from MIT, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Amish Parashar is a founding team member of Yamaha Motor Ventures & Laboratory Silicon Valley where he is a Partner & Director of Strategic Business Development.

Prior to joining YMVSV’s founding team, Amish served in a variety of operating and entrepreneurial roles. He has served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence and company founder. Most recently he was Director of Innovation of a hundred-person private research & development lab which created dozens of novel hardware technologies for start-ups and multinational corporations working in regulated industries.

Amish is a frequent lecturer on complex technology innovation and has held teaching appointments at Stanford’s d.school, Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering, Singularity University, and UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management.

Amish earned two engineering degrees: an A.B. from Dartmouth College and a B.E. from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth. He also earned a MSc from the University of London. Amish has over a dozen patents granted or pending.
