Research Summary
Dr. Noori's main research focus is the study of multiscale interplay between brain and behavior. To this end, he develops neurotechnological systems to (1) simultaneously measure the dynamics of neurotransmitters, physiological signals and BOLD in vivo and (2) simultaneously measure animal physiology, behavior and neural activity in social environment during their entire lifespan. Furthermore, Dr. Noori uses concepts originated from statistical mechanics, soft-matter physics, dynamical systems, differential and algebraic geometry and non-linear analysis to understand the observed processes in more detail. These approaches allow us to not only understand behavioral patterns in the context of their underlying biology but also to predict and prevent disease onset and prediction.
