Research Summary

The vice president and general counsel is the Institute’s chief legal officer. He is responsible for shaping MIT's approach to legal affairs, compliance and policies, and leading the Office of the General Counsel as well as the Risk Management and Compliance Services Office.

The Office of the General Counsel acts as MIT's internal law office, providing legal advice, counseling, and service to MIT and representing the Institute on all legal matters arising out of the activities of MIT.
