Research Summary

Macauley Kenney is co-instructor for the MIT D-Lab class Design for Scale. An experienced leader within startups, Macauley is passionate about scaling mission-oriented organizations in emerging markets. Her work has been featured in publications such as Forbes and Engineering4Change, and she has served as a mentor for MIT’s Delta V accelerator.

Kenney is the COO of SurgiBox, a medtech company launching the first ultraportable operating room for austere settings.Prior to joining SurgiBox, she served as Global Operations Manager for a rapidly growing multinational consulting company, and consulted on operations systems for social-impact ventures in the US and abroad. She was a fellow at MIT D-Lab in 2016, where she researched early-stage growth strategies for Ugandan ventures (see publication).

Kenney holds a master's degree in Technology and Policy, and a Sustainability Certificate, from MIT. She's currently working on improving both her beach volleyball game and her Flour rewards status.
