Algorithmic Fairness
Research Summary
Gupta’s research focuses on optimization and machine learning, and algorithmic fairness. Some of her most recent work includes a paper on using algorithms to avoid inequality and discrimination in hiring and a study of the 2021 Georgia congressional districting plan.
Her research philosophy is to work on problems that not only advance our understanding of the fundamental questions in optimization and machine learning, but often also has a positive impact on the society through ensuring algorithmic fairness.
