Joe Burgio

Joe Burgio joined the Office of Corporate Relations (OCR) as IT Manager on March 1, 2022. Burgio will lead IT operations to include, among many other evolving duties, leading and implementing technology solutions, ensuring fulfillment of user requirements, planning and prioritizing IT activities, managing the effective use of resources, managing vendors, and ensuring that contracts are in place.

Burgio comes to OCR from Language Scientific, a local translation and localization service provider where he serves as Systems Administrator responsible for IT operations, infrastructure, and security. One of his very relatable accomplishments is that he was responsible for transitioning and supporting his organization for remote access/WFH during the pandemic. Before that, Burgio was IT Manager and Systems Administrator at Nantero in Woburn where he had full responsibility for IT operations and strategy. Prior to this position, he was the Systems & Data Manger at the Massachusetts Center for Birth Defect Research and Prevention in Boston. Earlier in his career, Burgio held other IT positions of increasing responsibility after attending Boston University.
