Woosley Marine Carbon Dioxide Lab

The Woosley lab studies the marine carbon cycle. We look at how the ocean changes as it absorbs carbon from burning of fossil fuels by taking measurements of pH and total alkalinity on research cruises all over the world’s oceans. To do this we also need to understand the underlying physical chemistry that controls the carbon system. Using lab experiments we attempt to improve the precision and accuracy of carbon measurements.
