Research Summary

Hala Hanna is the Executive Director of Solve. MIT Solve is a marketplace for social impact innovation with a mission to drive innovation to solve global challenges. Hala's career revolves around building catalytic partnerships and strategies for social impact. Her work has included leading a public-private initiative for employment in the Middle East at the World Economic Forum, advising governments on public sector reform and donor engagement through her roles at the World Bank and the United Nations, and developing strategies and business models for nonprofits. In her last appointment at the World Economic Forum, she served as Director of Strategy and Impact. Hala holds two Master's degrees—one in Public Policy from Harvard University and another in International Development from American University in Washington, DC. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut. She has served as a Global Leadership Fellow of the World Economic Forum and as a Senior Advisor to the Women Political Leaders Global Forum.
