The Mobile Technology Lab applies Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to help people and communities. All over the world, mobile phones have become our personal wearable computer that has transformed our work as well as our personal lives. Smart phones can be used as a powerful instruments, or simply as a guide for navigating through life or connecting with other people and places. Like any tool, smart phones can be abused; but in general these ubiquitous personal computers have enormous potential for empowering people in a wide variety of areas ranging from mental health and drug addiction, to global health, diagnostic tools, and even farming and education.
