is agreement will support collaboration between researchers at the Energy Information Administration, U.S. Department of Energy and the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change. Researchers will focus on modeling the future of China’s transportation energy demand. As part of the project, DOE and MIT researchers will work to better understand the drivers of demand for transportation services in different provinces by analyzing regional and local data on household vehicle ownership and travel, utilization of short- and long-distance passenger transport networks, and commercial and freight transport demand.
