Traditional medical ultrasound assumes that we are imaging ideal liquids. We interested at imaging muscle and bone as well as measuring elastic properties of tissues, all of which are places where this assumption fails quite miserably. Interested in cancer detections, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and prostethic fitting, we use tomographic techniques as well as ideas from seismic imaging to deal with these issues.
