Natural Gas Pathways in the US Light Duty Vehicle Fleet


The abundance of domestic natural gas has fundamentally changed the energy outlook for the United States. Given the lower carbon intensity of natural gas compared with oil, and large quantities of natural gas available at historically low prices, this research seeks to understand what automotive technologies, strategies and policies should be pursued to use the growing abundance of natural gas in the short term while achieving a low-carbon transition in the long term.
