Undocutech

Principal Investigator Ethan Zuckerman

Undocutech is a network of undocumented media makers, online organizers, tech-activists, and allies across the United States working to strengthen the media and tech capacity of immigrant communities. In a partnership with United We Dream, the largest undocumented youth network in the country, and with support from the Equality Fund at Open Society Foundations, Undocutech has explored many models and modes of engagement, including webinars and hackathon-style events, to harness peer-learning and popular communication. By blending hackathons with community spaces for solution-oriented media creation, Undocutech facilitates skill sharing, crowd-sourced collaboration, and creation among immigrant communities. On October 5-6, Undocutech partnered with Migrahack to hold the #11milliondreams Storython in Los Angeles and Boston. The #11milliondreams Storython was an intergenerational and cross-cultural event that brought together technologists, communities members, and youth for the purpose of telling immigrant stories with media.
