Givmo: A New Way to be Green and Give to Charity (CoLab Radio)

Principal Investigator Dayna L Cunningham

Project Website http://colabradio.mit.edu/

Project Start Date November 2009

In 2009-2010, CoLab built a platform to host media projects in digital form sothat CoLab could share with the world the dialogue it enjoyed with each of itsmedia partners. The site, CoLab Radio, is now a place where people who arecommitted to improving cities and communities can express their ideas andshare their projects.

CoLab Radio is a blog site where people who are committed to improving cities and communities can express their ideas and share their projects. CoLab Radio is at the MIT Community Innovators Lab. From the beginning, CoLab Radio has been a site where people who are committed to improving cities and communities can express their ideas and share their projects.

CoLab Radio was launched in November/December of 2009 with content from members of the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning community who had long-term projects in various cities.

Although web-based platforms like blog sites, twitter accounts, and video channels allow for seemingly endless statistics and metrics, CoLab is primarily interested in a different set of questions: What experience did the media-maker have? Did s/he experience personal or intellectual growth? Did the media produced reach non-internet users? How is the associated community using media to build dialogue about the documented issue?
