Unsteady Flows, Aeroelastics and Aeromechanics

Principal Investigator Qiqi Wang

We are fascinated by unsteady fluid flows in nature and in engineered machines. One of our main research topics is simulation, control and design of unsteady flow phenomenon and unsteady interaction between fluid and structural dynamics, scalar transport and heat transfer. The types of flows we are interested in range from flapping flight of insects and micro air vehicles to hypersonic flows in SCRamJet propelled airplanes, from electricity generating wind turbines to geological flows and pollutant transport.
