The Computer Systems Security (CSS) Group researches and builds secure, practical, and flexible systems. Our work spans operating systems, computer architecture, distributed systems, programming languages, and web browsers. Projects include:
(*) Undo computing, an approach to repairing systems after compromise or corruption. (*) HiStar, an operating system that minimizes trusted code. (*) Resin, a language runtime that helps programmers write secure applications. (*) Cinder, an operating system providing resource control for mobile devices. (*) BStore, an in-browser system for data sharing between web applications. (*) Sud, a framework for confining malicious Linux device drivers. (*) UserFS, a Linux extension that allows any process to allocate fresh user IDs.
