The Dincă Lab designs solid-state materials with molecular precision to control charge, ion, and mass transport. This approach enables redox-active materials, ion conductors, sorption platforms, and catalysts for energy storage and the conversion of commodity chemicals.
The group operates at the intersection of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and materials science. We aim to answer fundamental questions about charge transport, reactivity, and transport in porous materials while addressing global challenges in energy storage, sustainability, and environmental adaptation. Our students and postdocs come from diverse scientific backgrounds ranging from organic methodology and organometallic chemistry to physical inorganic and even theoretical chemistry. The only required ingredient for success in our group is curiosity.
Fundamentally, the group is interested in designing materials with atomic precision to solve macroscopic problems.
