Olsen Research Group: Bioinspired and Biofunctional Polymers Group

Principal Investigator Bradley Olsen

The research mission of the Olsen Lab is to use proteins as model materials to better understand complex problems of fundamental interest in polymer physics and to develop functional protein nanostructures that address problems in biotechnology, energy, and sustainability.

While serving in the roles as researchers, mentors, teachers, and scientific ambassadors, work is guided by several core values: Integrity, Teamwork, Creativity and Passion.

The engineering of the protein polymers requires advanced chemical and biological synthesis, nanoscale structural control, and fundamental physical understanding developed at the interface of theory and experiment.
