Understanding Driver Evaluation and Rehabilitation Practices


The MIT AgeLab, in collaboration with the The Hartford Advance 50 Team, U.S. Department of Transportation New England University Transportation Center, American Occupational Therapy Association, and to learn more about people’s experiences with driver assessments and driving rehabilitation.

Interviews with drivers ages 50 and older who have taken part in a driving with people who provide care for someone with Alzheimer’s disease who has had a driving evaluation were conducted. Findings from this work will inform new approaches to ‘driver wellness,’ public education materials and presentations/publications, e.g., AOTA National Convention, Transportation Research Board, etc.
