Israel, the “Start-up Nation,” is a world leader in science, technology and innovation and has the highest percentage of engineers and scientists in the world.

The country ranks fourth in the world in the number of scientific publications per million citizens and has the highest concentration of start-ups in the world after Silicon Valley.

Israeli culture is all about innovation and making an impact - so is MIT-Israel. MIT-Israel offers hundreds of cutting-edge internship opportunities for students in companies and research. The program also offers opportunities for collaborative projects, courses on Israel, lectures on the Israeli high-tech industry and culture, and in-depth cultural orientations.

ISRAEL SEED FUND: The MIT-Israel Seed Fund supports new collaborations between faculty and research scientists at MIT and their counterparts in Israel and is open to applications from all disciplines.

MIT-Israel Seed Fund -- Through an annual call for proposals, the fund primarily supports travel costs for exchange between a team at MIT and colleagues in universities in Israel. The Israeli colleague(s) must be identified in the proposal. The maximum award is $30,000.

The MIT-Israel – Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Seed Fund -- The MIT-Israel – Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Seed Fund supports new collaborations between faculty and research scientists at MIT and their counterparts at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Through an annual call for proposals, the fund primarily supports travel costs for exchange between a team at MIT and colleagues at Ben-Gurion University. The Israeli colleague(s) must be identified in the proposal. Applications for up to $15,000 are recommended, maximum award is $30,000
