Workshop on Gender and Philosophy (WOGAP)

Principal Investigator Sally Haslanger

Now in its seventh year, WOGAP consists in a group of Boston area scholars in philosophy interested in work on gender and feminist philosophy. Anyone expressing interest in the Workshop will be put on an emailing list to receive announcements of meetings and occasional news and information for feminist philosophers.

Meetings are at MIT the second Thursday of each month from October to May (usually skipping January). The standard format is to have a speaker present her or his work in progress on some topic in the broad area of gender and philosophy. Papers are circulated in advance to allow maximum time for discussion. Normally 20-25 people attend; this includes a core group who come to nearly all meetings. In cases when no speaker is available, we might choose to discuss a previously published paper.
