With the application of large-N array receive coils, the problem of undesired, high-intensity lipid signals becomes yet more pronounced as these components derive from tissue in close proximity to the coil elements. Current work includes improving the estimation of the low-SNR metabolites in the presence of such disturbances, with the goal of robust, rapid, and reliable separation of desired and artifactual signals.
