Health, Medication and the Older Driver

AgeLab does not view age as a predictor of driver safety. Working with Harvard Medical School (HMS) and its affiliate hospitals, we are conducting a wide range of laboratory driving simulation and on-road experiments to understand impact of older driver fitness, chronic disease, and medications on driving. In addition, researchers are examining the promise of selected interventions to improve driving performance including medication, ‘brain training or fitness software,’ and new vehicle technologies.
