Measures of Urban Performance

Principal Investigator Jean P de Monchaux

This project uses literature reviews and/or empirical study of the longitudinal changes in urban performance of a given city and its correlation -- or even causal relationship - with deliberate plans and policies related to such an outcome.

This area of research interest applies to parts of cities and to metropolitan areas as a whole and embraces the task of devising plausible 'outcome measures' that make comparative sense in looking at how and whether goals in planning and urban design are achieved.
