Dr. Claire Ting, in collaboration with Professor Penny Chisholm, has studied the photosynthetic apparatus and heat shock response of the important marine bacteria Prochlorococcus and Synechococcus. Welkin Pope and Dr. Peter Weigele are characterizing phages of marine Synechococcus to examine the sequence/structure relationships of their adhesins.
