CA/T Sensor Technologies

A 4 year effort has led to evaluating sensor technologies important to traffic management on the CA/T project. His research identified emerging sensor technologies and developed a database of performance characteristics for a wide range of traffic, fire protection, and environmental sensors. This work also included vehicle-to-roadside communication for electronic toll collection and other advanced applications such as access control, traffic surveillance and driver information. In addition, MIT responded to special requests for advice or problem solving for sensor issues that surfaced during design reviews and construction.
