Vaccines

Principal Investigator Anthony Sinskey

Project Start Date April 2006

As society moves forward in disease management strategies, antibodies and vaccines will continue to be essential for the control of infectious diseases and eventually will be widely used for diseases such as cancer. This TRP involves a Singapore-MIT research collaboration featuring cutting edge research in basic immunology including the fundamentals adjuvant biology. In addition, the science and technology is to be translated via novel and creative manufacturing strategies (i.e. multiplexed bioreactors), which can be used to develop material for research as well as lead to new principles for production processes. Fundamental studies on vaccine and antibody supply chain management coupled with the economics of vaccine and antibody technology will allow for rapid development and responses to potential pandemics that may occur via the current crisis looming with avian bird flu.
