Nonlinear and Viscous Effects in Water Waves

Principal Investigator Chiang Mei

Oscillatory boundary layers on rippled bed. Two- and three-dimensional instability that may contribute to formation of sand ripples on beaches. Wind over small scale capillary waves. Energy transfer from wind to small waves. Chaotic bubble dynamics. Nonlinear effects of flow separation are analyzed by combining analytical and numerical calculations. Mass transport over ripples.
