Rothman Group at MIT

Principal Investigator Daniel Rothman

Professor Rothman's group studies natural nonlinear systems. We create simple theoretical and computational models of complicated disordered phenomena. We also perform empirical studies to constrain and motivate our models. In all cases we seek to develop or extend mathematical and computational methods so that we may better understand fundamental phenomena. Work is inspired by problems in geophysics, statistical physics, fluid dynamics, and biology.
