Research Summary

Henry Weil’s research focuses on competition in technology-intensive industries such as financial services, telecommunications, IT, media, transportation, and energy.. It illuminates the effects of management policies, technology developments, industry structure, and regulation on corporate competitiveness and the behavior of markets. He has studied commoditization, innovation, and value chain dynamics in many industries.

Weil currently is currently looking at the commoditization of air transportation, telecommunications services, and refined petroleum products. Weil uses computer simulation modeling to analyze the dynamics of market development, competition and long-term profitability.

Previously, Dr. Weil was president and CEO of Pugh-Roberts Associates, a Cambridge-based management consulting firm.
