Dr. Charles Hsu joined MIT's Office of Corporate Relations as a Senior Industrial Liaison Officer in January of 2007. Charles serves member companies in Taiwan and North America primarily, establishing connections between corporate engineering executives and the research faculty of MIT. His expertise includes the areas of microfabrication, nanofabrication, bio-medical engineering, display technologies, and MEMS CAD.
Charles holds a Ph.D. degree from MIT and has taught at MIT in the capacity of Technical Instructor for Micro/Nano Fabrication Technologies.
Prior to joining the Industrial Liaison Program, Charles was co-founder and executive officer of MicroSeal LLC, MaxiMEM Limited, and OptiMEMS Technologies, Inc. He also held key executive positions at various domestic and Taiwanese companies.
Charles has a profound interest in Ancient Chinese Philosophies, Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. He holds an annual 2-day Tao Seminar in Boston and volunteers his time to various Taiwanese Student Organizations at MIT, Harvard, and Boston University.
