2013 MIT Health and Wellness Conference

Overview
While much of the scientific community focuses on understanding, treating, and preventing the things that make us sick, a growing community of researchers study the things that are keeping us well. Manufacturers already expend significant research resources to better understand and then develop technologies that will eventually be integrated into products to promote wellness. This conference will examine the policies that govern how researchers study the science of wellness, as well as explore the many ideas and technologies that will be used to modify behavior or enable more comprehensive health monitoring at home and at work. Themes of particular importance at a national and global scale include obesity, diabetes, behavioral modification, neurodegenerative and infectious diseases, and cardiovascular health.
