The 2012 MIT Europe Energy Conference will showcase critical areas of energy research from the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI). The Institute-wide initiative is designed to help transform the global energy system to meet the needs of the future and to help build a bridge to that future by improving today’s energy systems.

This year’s conference will be hosted in Rome by eni, the Italian multinational oil and gas company, and MITEI founding member. Technological innovation is at the core of eni’s sustainable growth strategy, and the centerpiece of its research collaboration at MIT — the eni-MIT Solar Frontiers Center — focuses on the development of advanced solar technologies.
